  • Item 1: Mr. Gupta opened the meeting and thanked all members for attending. He acknowledged the complaints received from hostelites regarding food quality and expressed the administration's commitment to resolving the issues.
  • Item 2: Student representative Arjun Sharma presented the following concerns on behalf of hostelites: (a) Food is often served cold and undercooked; (b) Lack of variety in the weekly menu; (c) Inadequate quantities during dinner; (d) Poor hygiene standards in the kitchen area.
  • Item 3: Mr. Mohan Lal, the mess contractor representative, acknowledged the concerns and stated that supply chain delays for certain vegetables had affected quality. He assured the committee of improvement within two weeks.
  • The Hostel Warden, Mr. Suresh Mathur, proposed the following action points: (a) The weekly menu will be revised in consultation with student representatives; (b) A surprise kitchen inspection will be conducted twice a month; (c) Quantity of food served during dinner will be increased by 15%; (d) A suggestion box will be placed in the mess for continuous feedback.
  • Item 4 (AOB): Students requested that a mess committee with equal student and administration representation be formed for ongoing monitoring. The Chief Warden approved this and directed the Hostel Warden to constitute the committee by 22 January 2024.

  • Revised menu to be implemented from 22 January 2024
  • Bimonthly kitchen inspections to commence immediately
