Q.9. Draw the V-I characteristics of an ideal diode.

Answer

An ideal diode acts as a perfect conductor in forward bias and a perfect insulator in reverse bias.

An ideal diode has zero resistance and zero cut-in voltage when forward-biased, allowing infinite current to flow instantly for any positive voltage. When reverse-biased, it has infinite resistance, blocking all current regardless of the applied negative voltage. This creates a right-angled V-I curve along the axes.
