Q4Principle of Electronic Communication

Question

2 marks

Q.4. List two advantages of Digital Modulation over Analog Modulation. [2]

Answer

  • Digital modulation offers superior noise immunity, since a digital receiver only needs to distinguish between a finite number of discrete symbol levels rather than reconstruct an exact continuous waveform, making it far more tolerant of noise and interference than analog modulation.
  • Digital modulation allows easy integration with error detection/correction coding, encryption, compression, and digital signal processing techniques, and supports efficient multiplexing of multiple data streams, advantages not readily available with analog modulation.
