Piezoresistive modeling refers to the mathematical/physical modeling of how mechanical stress or strain applied to a piezoresistive material (such as doped silicon) changes its electrical resistivity, described through the piezoresistive coefficient tensor relating fractional resistance change to applied stress components, used to predict and design the sensitivity and output characteristics of piezoresistive sensors such as pressure sensors and strain gauges before fabrication.
