The Curie-Weiss law describes the temperature dependence of magnetic susceptibility (χ) of materials in their paramagnetic state above the Curie temperature:
where C is the Curie constant (a material property), T is absolute temperature, and θ is the Curie-Weiss temperature (approximately the Curie point Tc for ferromagnets). It shows that susceptibility decreases as temperature rises above θ, and diverges as T approaches θ from above — signaling the onset of spontaneous magnetic ordering (ferromagnetism) as the material is cooled through its Curie temperature.
