Specific electric loading (ac) is the total ampere-conductors around the armature periphery divided by the periphery length, expressed in ampere-conductors per meter.
Specific electric loading (also called ampere-conductors per meter, ac) is defined as the total number of armature ampere-conductors (the sum of the current-carrying capacity of all conductors around the full periphery of the armature) divided by the armature periphery length (πD):
It is one of the two fundamental specific loadings (along with specific magnetic loading Bav) used in the machine output equation, and its permissible value is primarily limited by the resulting copper loss and the machine's cooling capability (since higher ac directly increases I²R loss density on the armature surface).
