What are the advantages of DFT in comparison of DTFT?

Answer

DFT is computationally feasible for digital computers because it is discrete and finite, unlike the continuous DTFT.

The primary advantage of the Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT) over the DTFT is that the DFT is discrete and finite in both the time and frequency domains. The DTFT produces a continuous frequency spectrum which requires infinite memory to store. The DFT evaluates a finite number of frequency samples, making it perfectly suited for processing on digital computers, especially utilizing highly efficient Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) algorithms.
