Q1Digital Electronics

Question

2 marks

Explain digital signals.

Answer

A digital signal is a discrete-time, discrete-amplitude signal that represents information using two voltage levels corresponding to binary 0 and 1.

  • Two voltage levels: HIGH (1) and LOW (0)
  • Noise immune: small disturbances do not cause errors
  • Easy to process with Boolean algebra and logic gates
  • Can be stored and transmitted without degradation
