Define Mobile IP and state its main purpose.

Answer

Mobile IP is an IETF standard communications protocol that is designed to allow mobile device users to move from one network to another while maintaining their permanent IP address.

Mobile IP is an open standard, defined by the IETF, that allows users to keep the same IP address, stay connected, and maintain ongoing applications while roaming between different IP networks. Its main purpose is to solve the routing problem of mobile nodes changing their point of attachment to the Internet without losing ongoing TCP connections.
