What are Quality Circles?
Answer
Quality Circles are small, voluntary, cross-functional teams of grassroots employees who mathematically analyze and solve localized quality defects within their specific physical workspace.
Originating in Japan, Quality Circles empower the actual physical assembly line workers. Instead of managers guessing the problem, the workers who mathematically interact with the machines daily use statistical tools (like Ishikawa diagrams) to violently eliminate bottlenecks.
