What is a botnet?

Answer

A botnet is a massive, coordinated network of globally compromised computers (zombies) controlled mathematically by a single malicious hacker (the botmaster) via a Command and Control server.

A Botnet is an aggressive cyber-weapon architecture. Hackers infect 100,000 random IoT devices or PCs with Trojan malware. The attacker then uses a centralized Command and Control (C&C) server to violently command all 100,000 nodes to simultaneously launch a catastrophic DDoS attack or blast spam emails globally.
