Define Modulation.
Answer
Modulation is the strict mathematical process of aggressively altering the properties of a high-frequency carrier wave to physically encode low-frequency baseband data.
Modulation is the absolute foundational requirement for RF transmission. A low-frequency digital or analog signal cannot physically travel far. Modulation mathematically embeds this data by systematically varying the Amplitude, Frequency, or Phase of a massive, high-frequency carrier wave designed to punch through the atmosphere.
