Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Detection.
Used in Ethernet. A node listens to the channel (Carrier Sense). If idle, it transmits. If multiple transmit, a collision occurs. Nodes detect it, send a jam signal, and wait a random backoff time before retrying.
